If You Stay
A downloadable game
Two girls, Mika and Yara, realizing they’ve been outed by their school teacher to their parents and friends, spend their “final date” reconciling through the pain of hiding in the closet while navigating adolescence. Decide for them if they should run away together or ultimately split up.
WARNINGS: Mention of homophobia and domestic violence
Author's Note:
A project I got to work on with William Gómez for a short wlw / yuri visual novel, inspired by PC98 VNs (hence the small and trusted resolution of 640 x 400). The MC is a little insert-ish for me as I had a chaotic life growing up and ultimately left my home in a similar fashion, but I hope you'll be able to nonetheless understand both of their plights and take it into account when you make your final choice.
Unfortunately, I got sick while making it and some assets ultimately did not come through or were not fully polished. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy how it came out.

Life is cruel and sometimes every choice you make feels like it's the wrong one.
Nonetheless, I believe in their futures, no matter where they end up.
Such a bittersweet and heartbreaking story ;-;
I loved the art, and the story was very relatable as someone who had a similar 'outing' experience.
Hope things are going well for you
Thank you so much Porksbun! And yeah I really wanted to portray the bitterness of life and our choices that we make. I'm sorry to hear about your experience though and everything is well for you too.
this was so impactful, neverending stabs to my heart
great game, made me fucking depressed
Knew I had to play this upon seeing that first screenshot. So glad I did, as it was both bittersweet and cute… with food for thought.

Very cute and pleasant experience~ I can tell it comes from a place of genuine warmth and heartbreak. I assume the “No” ending is the canonical/autobiographic one, so I send you well wishes and hope everything turned out the best for you :)
Thank you! Actually funnily enough it was a little bit of both but it turned out all the well! Thank you again and glad you enjoyed the game!
Short & bitter story. Liked the art and overall mood a lot - minus the story which felt a tad too short tbh ^^’
Played it on linux no problem (using the windows build, there is a functional .sh script in there !).
Thank you so much! Yeah it was a bit short since it was for a game jam but it def gives me room to explore in a longer project next time. And that's good to know, I'll update my game page at some point to reflect that.
